Foreman

Position Identification:

Non-Exempt

Reports to:  Superintendent

 

Position Summary:

 

This position involves working with existing supervisors, estimators and supervising roofing service and maintenance crews. This position is responsible for the training of production and maintenance workforce and completion of assigned jobs.

  

Job Functions:

 

  • Performs training meetings per superintendent’s request.
  • Performs job set-up and oversees small jobs.
  • Communicates with customers and maintains good working relationships.
  • Possesses a working knowledge in blue print reading and specifications.
  • Understands warranties and warranty work.
  • Acquires knowledge in the basics in architectural sheet metal, including measurements and installation.
  • Completes all jobs including leak calls and small re-roofs.
  • Measures and draws any needed roof repairs and obtains an appropriate time estimation of the length of the job.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Clean motor vehicle record, and Background Check. Must not be afraid of heights and must be able to position extension ladder to access roof for roof inspection/survey
  • Ability to perform assigned task daily through completion with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner, promoting the organization in a positive and productive discipline which will serve as an example to others
  • Other critical skills include planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, multi-tasking,  follow-through skills to bring tasks to closure in a timely manner, priority setting, and having a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner

Working Conditions:

 

Physical surroundings:  Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and temperature.  Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold and in windy conditions.

Physical Effort:  Walking, turning, stooping and reaching for and carrying materials, stepping over and around obstacles, climbing ladders and scaffolding.  Must hear well enough to understand oral directions.  Must see to read forms, labels, directions, prints, and specifications.

Hours:  Subject to overtime
