Position Overview
- Local position within the DFW Metroplex; very little to no travel.
- Perform Test & Balance (TAB) projects on commercial HVAC systems using specialized testing equipment, software and NEBB balancing procedures.
- Communicate/coordinate with contractors, office, management and clients as needed.
- Hourly pay based on experience; individual health, dental insurance and retirement contributions after 30 days of employment; company supplied testing equipment; a company owned vehicle and profit sharing after probationary period and paid vacations.
Essential Job Functions
- Review contract documents and perform TAB using prepared company forms.
- Visit jobsite to review job conditions, coordinate, and discuss TAB process with other trades at jobsite.
- Perform field testing of HVAC systems using established NEBB procedures with company owned testing equipment, company or manufacturer software, and general math skills.
- Document all test results with true and accurate methods using the furnished forms.
- Communicate any deficiency or recommendations to supervisor and client continuously throughout the project and at wrap up of all projects.
- Participate in training as directed in testing procedures and use of equipment, controls, and HVAC systems.
Non-essential Job Functions
- Maintain Test & Balance (TAB) equipment at all times.
- Maintain Company issued work vehicle once assigned.
- Maintain any company property such as laptops and testing tools.
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
Requirements / Necessary attributes for Job performance
- Must be willing to resolve field issues by troubleshooting, investigation and communication.
- A Minimum of a 2-year technical degree or 4 years' experience in HVAC service, controls, or project supervision. Applicant's math skills must be at a basic algebraic level.
- Communicate in a professional manner to internal and external groups and individuals.
- Comfortable with various heights and climbing ladders.
- Testing of HVAC system requires physical activity such as frequent walking, climbing ladders, holding and carrying testing equipment and/or working on roofs at various times during winter or summer conditions. It is important that the applicant is comfortable with these job tasks and can physically handle daily routine.
- NEBB/AABC/TABB Technician certification required.
- Ability to pass both background and drug testing.
